Day 13: Celebrating Your Accomplishments

While beating myself up for not having the Solopreneur Retreat Implementation Kit completed yet (due by October 1) I started to think about just how much Carin and I have accomplished since launching season 3 of our podcast in May (Tune in and leave a review! My fave episode is #20).

It’s so commonplace in business to look at:

  • What you haven’t completed yet

  • What you did complete but didn’t sell as you anticipated

  • Leads you know you could improve the lives of that aren’t interested in what you’re selling (yet!)

  • How much time and energy was spent that appears to have no ROI

  • Ineffective marketing campaigns

the list goes on and on.

I would like to challenge you to go take a shower … that’s when it dawned upon me how rude I was being to myself … and think about how EVERY SINGLE THING you have done in business is leading you towards either clarity or customers. Sometimes both!

Seriously, take a minute and think about it. Look through your calendar and your outbox. Check your bank accounts. Spend some time reflecting on the things that have worked out.

Nothing bad comes from celebrating the progress you are making. You’re not going to be so proud of yourself that you decide it’s time to quit. Ha! Acknowledging your good work is going to energize you. I promise.

The solopreneurs and business owners that quit are the ones who have been beaten down by their negative self talk. Despite the reasons they give regarding external circumstances, it is ultimately them believing the worst and drawing those results in. Negative self talk leads to a demeanor that doesn’t close deals.

Do you want to work with someone who radiates disappointment, anger, and self-pity? I don’t.

I’m not trying to minimize the fact that running your own schtick is one of the most emotionally challenging things in the world. Cause it is. But, I just implore you to spend some time looking at the progress you have made.

Not everything worked out as planned but you got data from every attempt. Use that data to your advantage. Make a lil tweak here and a lil tweak there. Until you stumble upon what feels really good, is easy for you, and makes the impact you know your meant to have on others.

If you need help with this, I have a 1:1 mentoring package where we can work together to make your personal and professional life super successful!
