Day 72: Precision > Progress
We’re no longer having a Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal go live.
Carin just texted me saying that since we can’t get all the assets done we should hold off. I offered up that we remove from the sales page what we aren’t able to produce in time, worried since I’ve announced having a sale a few times in a few places. Then I thought about it some more. Having the first posts of our new brand tied to a sale isn’t a smart idea in the long term.
If we were to publish the product there wouldn’t be a formal announcement of our new brand. We would roll out the rebrand with a paid offer. It’s a very valuable product but with the lack of a visible foundation, it could raise suspicions with a cold audience.
Isn’t it crazy how we figure things out? Pride and not wanting to look like a liar, or a slacker, made me want to post something incomplete.
And I don’t think what we’ve created is subpar, especially at the discounted Black Friday Cyber Monday price. What we currently have completed is way more valuable than the low ticket sales price. But, for the original price, it needs to be the total complete package that we already determined.
Fortunately I had a really enjoyable time creating the assets and marketing calendar for this weekend and can easily remove the BFCM parts. And now that I have more time, I can make sure everything is cohesive. Plus, we can determine in what order we should release everything.
No harm, no foul. Learning as we go through aligned action.
