Day 118: Captains Log
Well yesterday’s post was dramatic. I didn’t include a title! My battery was at less than 1% when I posted it. I’ll probably keep it titleless.
Today was rough. I woke up fine at 6 am but then went back to sleep when the kids left. That made me discombobulated. I should have just stayed up.
Had an appointment with my new primary. Decided after the most recent telehealth appointment about the Hashimoto’s that I wanted an IRL doctor.
The doctor confirmed everything the NP said. Basically, since my T3 and T4 are fine, we just monitor everything with blood draws. If things start to fly off the handle: excessive weight gain or loss, skin and hair issues, or depression / anxiety I should go in.
The doctor was thorough and listened to everything from last year. The ultrasound, uterus biopsy, blood panel, etc. She gave me a few referrals to an OB/GYN in case they think I should get another ultrasound due to cysts and a GI doctor for a colonoscopy. Ugh.
There was a washing machine issue at one of the Airbnb’s so that resulted in an impromptu visit to unplug it and plug it back in. That didn’t work for me but it did for the homeowner when he went by later. I must not have left it unplugged for long enough.
The Airbnb management is usually pretty easy but we also have pest treatment this week. If I have to meet a technician there to repair the washer and also be there for the treatment that’s another few hours spent this week.
It has been pretty mild lately though. And way less bookings. We haven’t had a lot of overseas guests since our new administration imposed tariffs and threatened to acquire other countries. Lunacy.
Anyway, the shortage of overseas guests and I assume increased cost of groceries, insurance, and people not being interested in visiting Washington, DC has decreased our bookings significantly. Which has made less work for me. So I wont complain! Fortunate to have them as a retainer client for as long as they can afford it. Or until I’m printing money and no longer want to be on call 24/7. Or more like 18/7.
Speaking of business. No one has signed up for my Activating Audacity small group program yet. It’s weird to put all the work into sharing it twice and not get any sign ups. Lol, just kidding. I am excited that I put it into motion so quick but it was definitely a manic response to launch the podcast and virtual community last week.
And I’m for sure feeling the visibility and vulnerability hangover now. Carin and I talked a bit about that on Sunday before recording. Launching is a beast man. The emotional highs and lows are something I think you never get used to. I think it was a successful start, it will just be a slow burn. Having the summit will help with visibility. But we want folks in the online community engaging. So far it’s been the two of us. DOH! We’ll stick with it and it will get easier.
