Day 103: True Love

For the past day I’ve been thinking a lot about love and how it’s so much easier to love others than ourselves.

Or, maybe that’s just me.

I have a feeling it’s not just me though.

What I’ve deduced is that it’s easier to love others because we are only exposed to a certain version of them. An image we conjure up and hold onto.

We don’t hear what’s going on inside their heads. We can never fully understand what they think about constantly. We give them the benefit of the doubt when they make mistakes. We easily see their gifts and know they can do what they set their minds to.

But, self-love?

When we know our flaws. Every mistake we’ve ever made.

How? How is it possible?

Acceptance. Forgiveness. Focusing on our strengths. Unattaching from thoughts. Building adjacent neuropathways to reroute default negative thoughts.
