Day 157: Investing in Your Business
I’m at my sisters house for the weekend! Weeee!
Wine has been drunk… but I’m committed to blogging so the wine drinking will cease for a few moments.
Earlier today we had our first interview for the Solopreneur CEO. It’s a new series called “How I Run This”. I interviewed Elle Yeon, the photographer that did the 40 Over 40 campaign.
The conversation was SO good. I know that I’ll be relistening to it when I need a kick in the pants.
One of the things she said that made the biggest difference in her business that was the complete opposite of what I’ve done is invest in mentors and coaches from the beginning.
When she started her business she put her kids in full time daycare. It wasn’t an option for her to not be profitable from the get. So she invested right away on figuring out the systems and ways to make revenue right away.
That’s always been my Achilles heel. I hold onto my pennies and don’t invest. I’ve gotten better about it but its definitely a mindset shift. She mentions that every investment will pay off. Her resolution and confidence is very encouraging. Which is why i’ll be listening to it again.
Ok, back to drinking with my baby sis.
