Day 172: Acceptance or Avoidance?

My hearts not in blogging this week. That’s ok. It’s taken me a very long time to get to a space where I just accept.

Accept that sometimes my energy will be super low.

That I’ll feel like I’m not doing enough.

Instead of getting stuck in the feelings I’ll ask myself, “is there a reason?”. And usually there are many. But because these reasons are in the past and “done with” I think that there wont be any residual effects.

Leila Hermozi is one of my heroes. She had an Instagram post recently where the interviewee said, “How do you process stress?”. and she responded that there is nothing to process. You just deal with it in the moment.

I usually agree with the majority of things she says but I do think that if you don’t actually process stress and think it through, it will linger and then compound. At some point, the wave will crash down and you’ll start thinking that “everyone’s an idiot. No one is self sufficient. You have to do everything, etc.”.

There’s a huge difference between avoiding, accepting, and processing.

I think when you get into the habit of playing victim or intentionally avoiding things because you are overwhelmed, that’s ineffective.

But there are going to be times in life when you’re handed one too many crap sandwiches and you have to acknowledge if you’ve really been accepting or if you’ve been avoiding.

Good times!

Today’s binge was on a 10 year old who present at Paris Fashion Week. A . 10 . Year . Old . This kid, Max something, is remarkable. If you dont believe in past lives, reincarnation, or things of those sorts: check out this kids story. You can’t tell me that at age 4 a newbie to planet earth just starts designing dresses. And just after turning double digits ends up with the most talented designers ever. Wild.
