Day 27: Podcast Editing Software

I couldn’t get the podcast editing software to open again this morning. Frustrating but I’d already decided since Saturday’s experience that if it didn’t work out, I would start a subscription for another service.

As a debt-free business owner it’s difficult for me making investments when the return wont be immediate. With this new editing software I know it’s going to make the user experience for podcast listeners better. Meaning it’s a worthwhile investment. Paying a couple hundred dollars for something that was free stings a bit but once I get the hang of it, I’m sure I’ll get over it. Sometimes my stinginess bothers me and other times I’m grateful because being in business is a risk.

Since it was my first time editing on this new software it took me about two to three times as long as the previous one. I’ve edited close to 100 podcasts and knew the old tool so well.

Now I have to: listen, look, cut, listen, and then relisten again.

In the long run it will be way easier, and better because of the capabilties, but I’m tired from today. Learning new systems is brain numbing the first few times.
