Day 60: MMxM Edition 4

MINDSET
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” -Aristotle

The day after I last wrote to you I got a wild hair up my butt and decided to start blogging daily. For at least a year straight. <insert shrieks, gasps, and looks of horror>

Coming up with this idea felt like a huge undertaking but I had finally reached my pain threshold of “wanting to be a writer” but not taking the calling seriously.

So here I am. Finally formally announcing it to you.

Because I know myself so well I knew that if I started sharing too early my chances of quitting would be significantly increased.

I gifted myself with the psychological safety of not announcing it until 30 days. Full disclosure: I shared with our Success Secret Society members in our intention setting meeting and also on the pod once. Sharing in that way didn’t feel vulnerable because I know those peeps well!

Visibility and putting yourself out there is so difficult.

It opens the door to scrutiny, other people's opinions and their beliefs regarding access to you, self-doubt and fear of not communicating well and being misunderstood.

The list goes on and on.

The only thing worse than putting yourself out there, is hiding when you know you’re meant to share. I’m meant to help people feel less alone in this seemingly more isolated world. Community, creating connection with self and others, and initiating action are my gifts. And it’s time for me to start sharing more.

Surprisingly (knock on wood), the process has been an enjoyable experience with way less hesitation and stuckness than I expected.

Like with this newsletter, I don’t use AI for the blog entries. So if you do decide to read, excuse any errors!

MARKETING
Today’s marketing tip is to always think about the users experience and constantly determine if there are ways it can be improved.

This is something I’m currently doing for the Airbnb’s that I’ve managed for the past 7 years.

The owner and I went through all four units and inventoried: the linens, cookware, entertainment options, etc.

From there I created a spreadsheet of small, but impactful, purchases we could make to elevate the experience. With the exception of one item (steamers), we are ordering everything.

If you have an Airbnb or are interested in that business model you can access the document HERE. In the coming months I’ll be doing an entire series of posts on my NOVA Business Agency about Airbnb’s! So if you think of anything I missed, lmk!

Another thing I did this week to improve the podcast listeners experience is upgrade my editing software. The old free version couldn’t handle the size of the workshop audio so I purchased a subscription to Descript.

Carin and I also decided that the private IG channel isn’t good enough for our Success Secret Society members so we are starting a SKOOL community.

When you take the time and make the investments to best serve your clients and leads, they’re more likely to:

  1. tune in

  2. buy from you again

  3. provide a testimonial

  4. become a referral partner

I would love it if you thought of anything you could fine tune and reply to me letting me know!
