Day 169: Values Based Priorities
Do you feel supported? By your loved ones, your team, your boss, your family.
Your self?
Something urgent happened today and I needed to make cancellations and then make immediate plans. It was unexpected but I knew that my husband, boys, and the appointments I had scheduled would understand the change.
There are times in life where we feel like our hands are tied. For me, that’s not the current case. I made a decision. It was based on my values. I’ve lived my life prioritizing doing what I believe is right.
And can truly say I have no regrets when it comes to the big things.
Sure, there were situations when I didn’t feel like I had the ability to be as present as I wanted (when I returned to full time workforce). But, I also knew that should something major happen, I would do what I knew was right.
I want that for you too. It starts with knowing your values. What are your non-negotiables. From there you create boundaries. Or at least have them as your guiding light to help make decisions.
I’m a bit discombobulated now but I know there have been scenarios in my past where I’ve stood up with knees knocking and ended up realizing just how powerful I was.
Let’s live a life with no regrets. Let’s be there for the things that are important in life. Not because we’re fearful of what we will miss or how we will be perceived. But, because we know deep inside that what we are doing will bring us peace.
