Day 88: Advice from a Klutz

Slow down or be slowed down.

I’ve had the conversation a few times in the past couple weeks. People tripping, falling, knocking into stuff, flaking on commitments, forgetting what needs to be done.

This is the season! it’s amplified with the holidays and if you don’t take time to intentionally slow down, you are likely going to experience more accidents.

Say a little mantra to yourself if you are feeling overwhelmed. It will help.

  • Nothing is urgent right now

  • My well-being is a priority

  • There is power in the pause

Whenever we have these accidents we look back and know exactly why it happened don’t we?

I was carrying too many boxes and couldn’t see the whole stairway. The mental to do list was scrolling through my brain instead of me being aware of my surroundings. When I scheduled the appointment I didn’t immediately add it to my calendar and didn’t send a follow up email so the whole concept of the meeting just vanished into thin air.

Finish this season off with a focus on prioritizing your peace. Sure you can commit to things but only if the ROI is worth it. Everything else, say no or push it til January.
