Day 89: More Gluten Education

It snowed here a little bit and I saw two very bizarre driving incidents within an hour. The weather really makes people looney. I thought about yesterday’s post about how accidents happen when we are distracted.

Which kept me paying A LOT of attention while walking in the frozen parking lot. I did not want to slip and fall.

I should be making dinner right now but I put a heating pad on my ankles (just joint pain) and our dog Tank came and laid on top of the heating pad. And one of my ankles. So helpful.

Did some more research on GF and dairy free foods after realizing the Ezekial bread I eat isn’t gluten free. It’s flour less but has wheat. Ugh.

I found a different brand at Target which is where I went earlier today. I also got spinach, avocados and olives.

You don’t realize how much you love eating until you have to go on a stupid lifestyle change. Once everything is officially out of my system and I break the “going to the fridge when emotional” habit, it will be easier.

Having a diet of natural foods is way better and your body benefits from it but that first 10 - 15 days is really difficult.

The first time I ever sobered up was because I did a 21 day cleanse. By day 10 or so I felt so amazing. Which encouraged me to stay sober. Until a couple years back. I wonder if the return to booze helped the Hashimoto develop. Or the stress from the full time jobs, or both. I’m sure there were a ton of factors. Including my mostly processed vegetarian diet. I used to live off of pasta, pizza, and cheese subs.

Ok, I need to punt the dog off my ankles so I can go make the teenager food.
